Kang Junyoung

 

 

 

 

Kang JunYoung releases message on his work related to his personal experience, such as his childhood in the United States or sudden loss of a family member. Based on hip-hop culture, his graffiti lettering contains love and family that repeatedly appears in his work. In his context of ‘alienation’, his recent works combine the currently disappeared ware ‘ttong jang gun’ with messages of Korean democracy movement in the 1970~80s.

Kang JunYoung works by constructing an image containing messages using ceramic pencils, gold, or ceramic printing. The genre of pottery is a mean to convey his message. He is not bound to the genre but works on paintings and video as necessary. The story which can’t be contained in ceramics is put on canvas, and when a moving story is needed, Kang JunYoung expresses his thoughts through visual language.

Kang JunYoung将小时候在美国的生活、意外失去亲人的痛苦及个人经验表达在陶瓷上 。他的作品主题是嘻 哈文化的涂鸦、家人和爱情。最近他以“冷落”为主题，制作出了将已消失的韩国传统陶瓷 “Ttong Jang-gun (Rice-bale-shaped bottle)”与上世纪 70- 80 年代韩国现代民主化运动的意义相结合的作品 。

Kang JunYoung利用陶瓷笔、黄金和转写印刷手法在作品上表达自己的信息 。对他来说，陶艺是传达信息的 一种手段，因此并不拘泥于体裁，有时还会利用绘画和影像来表达自己想要传达的信息 。若无法在陶瓷 上充分表达自己的想法时，就把它表现到画布上；需要讲述生动的故事时，则通过影像这一视觉语言来 展示自己的想法。

カンジュンヨンはアメリカで過ごした少年時代、不意に家族の喪失などの個人的な経験のメッセージを陶磁器で表す。ヒップホップ文化を基にしたグラフィティや家族、愛などの內容を盛り込んだメッセージは彼の作品に繰り返されるモチーフだ。最近は'疎外'というキーワードを中心に、今はなくなった'Ttong jang-gun(Rice-bale-shaped bottle)'という韓国の伝統陶磁器と1970~80年代韓国民主化運動のメッセージを融合させた作品を紹介した。

彼はセラミックペンシルや金、転写技法などを通じて言いたいメッセージを盛り込んで、イメージを構築するやり方で作業する。陶芸というジャンルは彼のメッセージを伝えるための一つの手段である。ジャンルにとらわれず必要であれば、絵や映像作業を一緒にする時もある。カンジュンヨンは陶磁器に盛り込めないことはキャンバスにして、動く話が必要な時には映像を作る方式で自分の考え方を視覚的言語で描き出している。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

강준영 도예가는 미국에서 보낸 유년시절, 갑작스러운 가족 구성원의 상실 등 개인적 경험에 관련된 메시지를 도자기 위에 풀어낸다. 힙합문화를 기반으로 한 그래피티 형태의 레터링과 가족·사랑의 메시지를 담은 문구는 그의 작품에 반복적으로 등장하는 모티프이다. 최근에는 ‘소외’라는 키워드를 중심으로 현대에는 없어진 ‘똥장군’이라는 한국 전통 도자기와 1970~80년대 한국 현대 민주화운동의 메시지를 접목한 작품을 선보이기도 했다.

 

강준영은 세라믹 펜슬이나 금, 전사 기법 등을 사용해 표현하고자 하는 메시지를 담은 이미지를 구축하는 방식으로 작업한다. 도예라는 장르는 그의 메시지를 전하기 위한 하나의 수단으로, 그는 장르에 얽매이지 않고 필요에 따라 회화나 영상 작업을 병행한다. 도자기에 담을 수 없는 이야기는 캔버스에 담고, 움직이는 이야기가 필요할 때는 영상을 만드는 방식으로 강준영은 자신의 생각을 시각적 언어로 표현하고 있다.
